
Beginning in the mid-1990s the actor enjoyed a successful stint as a regular guest on the popular sitcom Friends, playing the romantic partner of Monica Geller and receiving an Emmy nomination for the part. In the new millennium, Selleck starred in a number of TV films, which included the Jesse Stone series, in which he played the role of a New England police chief. He was also awarded an Emmy nod for the part and was also the director of the films. Selleck plays a police commissioner who is part of a family of multigenerational of police officers in the drama Blue Bloods which debuted on CBS in 2010.Selleck was eventually able to be seen on the big screen. Along with Ted Danson and Steve Guttenberg he appeared in Three Men and a Baby that was a massively entertaining comedy. It was the top-grossing film ever.
